Arriving in Lorne

We recommend you drive via Winchelsea / Deans Marsh to avoid delays on the Great Ocean Road.

Registration / Bib Collection

Run Registration will commence 4-6pm Thursday 8/1/26. If you are in town this will give you more time to collect your running bib which has your number and timing transponder in it, and you can also enjoy the Village green with sponsor products and food and drink options.

Friday Registration opens at 7am and closes at 8.30am.

Starting

Waves start at 8.30am and continue every 2 minutes in waves of approx. 120 runners to ensure smooth flow through the forest and river track. After the first elite wave at 8.30, runners are requested to self select a wave with the appropriate timing – faster runners at the front and slower runners at the back.

Aim to get to the William St oval 15 minutes before your start time (excluding any warm up time). It takes 2-3 minutes to walk there from the Village Green.

The Run

Please start slowly as the first 2km are uphill before you hit the beautiful river track. On the river track keep an eye out for rocks and tree roots. We also recommend runners do not use ear buds as you may not hear overtaking runners from behind.

There are water stations at 3 or 4 places on the course, along with first aid stations, and we recommend you take advantage of the water and if you are are not feeling well please seek help from our volunteers on the course.

The Finish

Your timing bib will probably ‘beep’ when you cross the line. Keep moving to the water station and the Village Green. If you need help just make that known to the life savers and volunteers.

T-shirt collection is at the Registration tent in the Village Green.

Then you can meet your friends and checkout our Village exhibitors to enjoy sponsor products and food and drinks.

Presentations

Presentations for all categories will be on the main stage at approx. 10am. Category winners will be notified by SMS.

Mountain Goat medals

The Mountain Goat Award tent is available next to the registration tent from which you can collect your medal if you have reached your 10, 20, 30 or 40 year award. We have a dais and signage wall set up there so you can take great photos with your medal. The tent operates from 9-11am. Mountain Goat awardees will be posted on our Mountain Goat page in the week before the Event.

Inclusion

Swimmers and runners of all abilities are welcome at our events, including those with disabilities. Our mission is to foster an inclusive, supportive environment where everyone can enjoy the water or the land and celebrate the joy of swimming or running together. If you have a support swimmer, shore team, or equipment needs, please reach out to our Swim Administrator swim@lornesurfclub.com.au — together, we’ll make sure you have the best experience possible.
