Welcome to Lorne Surf Life Saving Club, famous for hosting the iconic Lorne Pier to Pub ocean water swim and Lorne Mountain to Surf Run in January each year.  It’s when the town’s population swells to around 20,000 and transforms into a wonderful carnival atmosphere.

Our Club, located on Victoria’s amazing Great Ocean Road, is steeped in a proud history of surf lifesaving education, competition and patrolling through the enthusiasm of its members and volunteers.

When you visit Lorne’s main beach in Summer, it will be under the watchful eye of a team of dedicated patrollers, mostly volunteers, who work hard to keep the beach a safe and enjoyable swimming experience for all.  You will see them in their traditional red and yellow uniforms out in boats, on boards, in the patrol tent and tower, adjusting flags and keenly watching the waves to help.

We’d love to see you on our shores and welcome new members.  Why not join in our nippers program, become a life saver or life saving competitor in surfboat rowing, swimming, board and ski paddling, beach running or join the Inflatable Rescue Boat crew?  Register in November to swim the Pier to Pub or take on the challenge of the Mountain to Surf?  If you prefer things a little easier please come up to our Club rooms and enjoy the hospitality of our restaurant and bar and of course the magnificent views across Louttit Bay towards Bass Strait.

See you in Lorne!

Kind regards

Heath Armstrong
President, Lorne SLSC
