Getting to Lorne

If you are coming from Melbourne on Pier to Pub day (or most days over Summer) then we strongly recommend taking the inland route via Deans Marsh Road from Winchelsea or Moriac.  Do allow at least 2 and half hours from Melbourne CBD as the roads become congested and travel times can be slow.  Please be patient driving to and from Lorne.  If you can, carpool with friends.

Parking

Parking in and around Lorne is difficult as there is limited space available for parking.  To assist on Pier to Pub day, we offer free parking at the Lorne Country Club (Golf Club), and a courtesy shuttle bus to / from the main road (Tourist Information).

Some of the local car parks are also available, with local Community Groups requesting a donation (e.g. $25).

Please make sure you park legally as parking inspectors are active over the weekend.  Note that yellow lines indicate no parking is allowed.

Lorne Country Club. Free parking with a free shuttle service will run from the Country Club to the Tourist Information Office at the bottom of the main street. From here it is a short and flat work along the beach or street to the surf club. The shuttle service starts at 8:00am and runs till 5:00pm. This free parking is run by the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club.

Erskine Foreshore normally operated by the Lorne School

Stribling Reserve. Parking at Netball and Basketball courts. TBC after renovation of the oval and courts. Normally operated by Lorne Cricket Club Reserve. Parking is in and around the netball courts as directed. Run by Lorne Cricket Club

Shelly Beach / Vera Lynn Parking - Free (but not many parks)

We urge you to park legally in Lorne; parking Wardens will be active over the weekend.
