Getting to Lorne
If you are coming from Melbourne then you need to allow plenty of time. The roads become congested and travel times can be slow. We strongly recommend taking the inland route via Deans Marsh Road. We have sign posted this route for the event so that it is easy to find.
Please be patient driving to Lorne and on your travel home from Lorne. Allow at least 2 and half hours to get to Lorne and possibly longer. If you can, carpool with friends.
Parking in and around Lorne is difficult as there is limited space available for parking. To assist with finding parking we have worked with the local community to make available the following parking locations.
Parking is run by the Lorne Community Groups listed below. They set the prices for car-parks
|1||The Carpark beside the Surf Club.
This park is run by the Lorne Men's Shed community association.
|2||Parking on the grassed area of the foreshore.
Run by Lorne Men's Shed community association
|3||Stribling Reserve. Parking is in and around the netball courts as directed.
Run by Lorne Cricket Club
|4||Lorne Country Club. Free parking with a free shuttle service will run from the Country Club to the bottom of Deans Marsh road. From here it is a short and flat walk along the beach or the main road to the surf club. The shuttle service starts at 8:00am and runs till 5:00pm.|
|5||Point Grey. Located 300m beyond the Pier.|
We urge you to park legally in Lorne; parking Wardens will be active over the weekend.
